The Shawls with Striking Geometrical Patterns, also known as Kulu Shawls, are used as wrap around a body. The Shawls with Striking Geometrical Patterns are of two types, pattu for women and the chadru for men. The stripes or bands in these shawls run horizontally widthwise at the lateral ends. These bands, a few centimeters wide and varying from two to seven centimeters on each side of the shawls are decorated with a variety of patterns woven in brilliant colours like yellow, green, white or red on a blade background or orange and green on a brown base. These Shawls sometimes displays a flying bird motif scattered over the surface. These Shawls have motifs such as stylished floral patterns, dolls with raised hands, and stars evenly distributed between parallel lines.
